Tuesday, September 07, 2004 Time to pump some life into this dead blog !!! HARHAR . I've hijacked my bro's com . And what do I see ? I actually see my debate trophy displayed proudly on HIS shelves! What the ? How come I didn't miss it ? Sheesh . He KIDNAPPED my trophy ! I think he did it to show off , his friends just came for his birthday party. -_-" I'm going to murder him , I think .Anyway, speaking of trophies , I HAVE to mention this: oh ! I am supersuper pissed ! Guessed what happened ? I completely cannot believe this : I was just looking through my old scrabble score sheets for the nationals.. And I found I miscalculated my spread by 100 points ! [The spread is the difference between your score and the opponents score] Yes. My score was 550, and my opponents score was 200. And what did I put the spread as ? 200. yes, TWO HUNDRED . Not 300. Fantastic ehh ? That stupid mistake cost me first place . +faints. My total spread was 593 ; but it ought to have been 693 ! The winning spread was 600+ ? Also , there were other , smaller scoring errors that I didn't check ... YIKES . How horrible can it get ? And I just discover that error likee.. almost two months ? After it's over ? Fantastic I tell you . +moans. What a sad life I do lead . Interschool Scrabble Finals. This one was such a pity ... I didn't get to participate in this one ! I won all my 3 rounds in the preliminaries , but my team-mates lost some .. so ours was the only St. Margaret's team that didn't qualify ! How saddening ... ]: Regardless , I went to suntec to go support our geeks ... [Suntec ! What a nice place to play scrabble! Totally unfair .+hmf.] Dorcas & I kept going up and down the escalators to get a good view of our team ! LOL . They [beccah , auddrey , fensta ] happened to be sitting right next to the escalator ... and you couldn't really observe them because they were next to it! So dorkie and I just hung around while we waited for them to finish their game ... Then they emcee went on stage and asked for volunteers to play a game .. So I decided to try and see if she would pick me.. I stood on my tippy toes and waved my arm ... And yes ! I was the first one chosen to play ! I think it was because of my bright orange jacket . [: Then , I won another set of uno cards ... Sheesh ! I have four packets already . I keep winning that from scrabble ! oh well. Then I vaguely remember telling beccah I was going to blog about her being a 'brave soul' ... So I have ! Beccah ! You're no jinx ! I just think that it was an unlucky sequence of circumstances ... Anyway , y'all are absolutely fantastic scrabblers ! Don't be sad ; it's difficult to play 5 games and still have the concentration to win them all ! Shall be seeing all of you playing at the nationals next year , yes ? [: Debate : Round [ one ] Our first debate ! It was against Ahmad Ibrahim Sec , with the motion ' A happy childhood has spoilt many a promising life' . We were the opposition ! I was first speaker and reply speaker ; Clara , second speaker , and beccah , third speaker . They were absolutely HORRIBLE , and absolutely HILARIOUS ! We won , obviously , and beccah got best speaker ! +claps . National Day It was super fun ! Sharon and I emcee-ed it ... I don't think we did an excellent job because we were so stiff-like. Anyway, after that beccah and charity came over ... we were supposed to teach her how to play scrabble , but I don't think we did in the end [: They had to tag along for my ultrasound ... I'M NOT PREGNANT MIND YOU. The people there made me gulp loads of water, so they could see inside my tummy properly ... Quite funky , actually , the ultrasound stuff. I can see what's going on in there! Cool .After that we went back , and I rmbr getting quite frenzied when the lift looked like it stopped ... Cuz I REALLY need to go to the toilet! After that we played taboo ... And i think Charity asked: what's a white , jelly-like substance? REBECCA ! hahahahahahaha. anyways. I think I'm pretty much up to date... Save for the debates , but I'm not going to cover them . BAD MEMORIES !I shall just concentrate on scrabble now. On saturday , becca and I went back to help kohster train the sec 1's ... Cuz there was a comp for lower sec people.. [he said if it was for upper sec he'd put us in duhh!] haha. So we came and played with the sec one's ... At the risk of that sec one coming to read my blog , I shall not say anything ... Then , kohster asked us out to discuss who should be in... Beccah said hers really couldn't be bothered and didn't count properly ... But her's was better than mine so mr koh chose her. Then mr koh taught them again, so beccah and I just played our own game. And the sec one's got such a scolding by kohster! quote: " How can you play with such a lacksidaisical attitude? You're not even putting in the effort!" lol. I think he really traumatized them HARHAR. After he dismissed the sec one's , we went to play with him.. weiling [secone girl] was there so we played with her as well .. It was quite fun... I told beccah she was a STINKY PIG after she took my spot... Kohster was really amused by that term and started saying stinky pig randomly... the he decided to just call beccah stinky pig .. HAHA ! Then when beccah said: you can't say that ! HE said : why not? Laura , can I use your copyright and call her a stinky pig? I said : yes , as long as you use it EXCLUSIVELY for beccah . HAHA ! Hilarious. Then beccah had an obvious bingo .. and she FINALLY found it after waiting for a gazillion years... [: Then I got a bingo! yayy ! Towards the end of the game, kohster decided to call me by a super ah-beng and slangish way... " Lo WAH !!! Lo WAH!!! quick , your turn, Lo WAH!" mmhmM. completely sane . I hope it doesn't stick and that he doesn't call me that in future ... it's really quite embarressing. On the other hand, I hope he continues to call beccah a STINKY PIG ! whoohhoo. I am such a fair , nice person. [: SO. On monday i msged him to find out how the sec one's had done... and he said they were a disgrace. lol. then when i asked him why , he got all fired up and set me this list of wrong doings! LOL. and he said: Wish they were more like u, reb , aud and the others. Haha! he appreciates us now ! After I got his handle , I played him on isc ... I asked him why they cancelled his fairplay agreement... HAHA ! SO FUNNY ! he says he left it on by accident. right. so we played.. and annoying him got two bingos , and i only got one. i called him a swine and cow ! But he's quite okay with the slander. Lol. so I lost .... and he was like: yay! I win! -_-" rigghtt . Oh, and I found out something interesting. Beccah is attracted to tall guys! Isn't that absolutely sweet? Not so much the 'tall' part, but the attracted to guys part. LOL ! But i actually don't see how that works, because every time she see's a tall guy, she always goes: I hate that guy! He's so tall. because she's jealous of his height. so ... huuuuhh ? +shakes head. oh well. Anyway, I shall leave you here. I want to change my blog layout soon ! Love, Laura.
